For Guy Fawkes night, The Student hosted a bonfire at Portobello beach. I took video footage in order to create a video which encourages more students to get involved with the society.

Newspaper distributors with The Student sent in clips of the paper’s physical locations around campus. I posed in the video and had a friend of mine film the takes, by instructing her what to capture, when, and how. I then edited the video in the style of Wes Anderson.

Farah Mead, a journalist with The Student, discussed pollution issues at Portobello beach, a topic important to students of Edinburgh university.

The Student newspaper asked questions of local visitors about their favourite performances and what they were interested in seeing next.

Fringe editors for The Student newspaper speak up about their top picks for Fringe 2026. I edited this video but did not film its content.

My brother’s graduation from high school was an emotional time.

I undertook a short, creative project in which I filmed our family and friends together, on the night of his graduation, celebrating at a pub.

I chose the time of night when people were leaving to give the video greater emotional weight; leaving to go home, where reality would now be different, and in which the act of saying goodbye was both a sad and happy occasion. Having loved ones to say goodbye to is, I have found, an inherently joyful thing, no matter the circumstances.

A theatre editor at The Student newspaper, Finlay Clench requested a video review for Bedlam’s The Importance of Being Earnest. We talked to the show’s directors and members of the audience.

In 2026 the Edinburgh Union Debate Society brought together opposition and proposition teams to debate the question, ‘Have Universities Forgotten Their True Purpose?’

It was surreal to be in the presence of so many noteworthy names, no less to meet them afterwards. I videographed and photographed the event from a perch close to the debate table, and brought the clips together in a short video intended to encourage students to watch the debate in its entirety.
