Student journalistic media, and the 2026 Edinburgh local elections.
In 2026, The Student Newspaper and EUTV teamed up to undertake an ambitious project interviewing candidates for the 2026 election in Edinburgh, Scotland. I worked with both student societies to film and edit journalistic media to a high, professional standard, engaging respectfully with the interviewed candidates and working quickly to ensure the videos went out on an appropriate timeline.
It was a delight to speak to the candidates, particularly Ben Macpherson and Lorna Slater, who were the winners of their respective Edinburgh regions.
I filmed 3 out of 5 of the full interviews on my Panasonic Lumix camera, and edited 4 out of 5, including additional promotional reels, using Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVincI Resolve. It was a wonderful experience that taught me a lot about professional media journalism.
